Pastor Reginald Belton
Pastor Belton is an innovative leader, dynamic preacher and a bright theologian. Pastor Belton is a visual artist whose strokes contain appropriate life application of the text to his people.
Pastor Belton has always believed that one’s first ministry is to one’s family. He and the Minister Thelma Belton met shortly after high school as friends who fell in love. They were later married in 1994. Their marriage and ministry has been shaped by their faith and friendship. Pastor and Mrs. Belton are the proud parents of two children, Adriane and Darius.
Pastor Belton holds undergraduate degrees in Telecommunication Systems Management (with a concentration in Computer Technology) and in Technical Management. He earned his Master of Divinity Degree from Erskine Theological Seminary and is currently preparing to attend Alliance Theological Seminary of New York to purse his Doctor of Ministry.
Pastor Belton’s established relationships with sister churches, community and local political organizations has enabled him to provide current and future information to his parishioners, so that the First Baptist Church of Brownsville may continue to move towards being an effective worship community in the 21st century.
Minister Thelma Belton
Minister Belton is a first lady who truly loves the Lord and His people. She works tirelessly alongside her husband, Pastor Reginald Belton, to ensure that the First Baptist Church of Brownsville worship community continues to mature in the Lord. However, it has been her effective leadership skills as the Advisor of the Women’s Ministry, which has demonstrated her commitment to the community of women and their continual collaboration of work in the Lord’s vineyard.
Minister Belton has always believed that one’s first ministry is to one’s family. She and the Reverend Reginald Belton met shortly after high school as friends who fell in love. They were later married in 1994. Their 25-year marriage and ministry has been shaped by their faith and friendship. Pastor and Minister Belton are the proud parents of two children, Adriane and Darius.
Minister Belton’s business management and Christian-based financial education has enabled her to provide seminars to the FBCB community. She has also earned and continues to obtain NYS licensure and additional components in insurance counseling.
Minister Belton believes that all things are possible with God and if we commit our works unto the Lord, our thoughts shall be established. It is this belief and commitment of God’s people, that the First Baptist Church of Brownsville may continue to move forward towards being an effective worship community in the 21st century.

Under the spiritual guidance and education of the Pastor, deacons of the church assist the pastor in all aspects of ministry, serving the congregation and reaching out to the community
Provide spiritual and emotional support to the deacons; assist them in caring for the congregants of the church.
The church secretary performs a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth operation of church business, including but not limited to, answering telephone calls, generating and receiving correspondence, creating morning worship church programs, maintaining up-to-date accurate church forms. The church secretary often works with the church clerks to ensure the administrative tasks are accomplished.
Church clerks work together with the Pastor, the Executive Team, and the church secretary to ensure the accuracy and proper maintenance of official church records and documents. Church clerks are also responsible for reviewing legal documents and recording and organizing the church’s legal records, including but not limited to, employment contracts, contracts for work to be performed on church property, warranties, etc.
Under the leadership of the Pastor and Deacons, trustees oversee the financial health of the church and any church property, including but not limited to payment of bills and salaries, financing church programs and keeping detailed financial records. Major financial investments or expenses are subject to the approval of the church body- at -large.
